Late Summer Update!

August 11, 2021

Hello Passholders & Friends,

August is in full-swing and plenty of summer remains, but we wanted to share a little update from Shawnee Peak. Once again, it’s been a very busy summer as we prepare for our favorite time of year! We hope that many of you will consider a season pass this winter!

On-hill, our Mountain Ops team has been hard at work with routine maintenance to the ski slopes and our mountain infrastructure, including lifts and snowguns. The base area also has some fresh coats of paint!

A major investment this summer was the purchase of HKD SV-10’s for Kancamangus as well as the installation of the Klik semi-automated hydrant on both Kanc and the Horn. We will now have 4 primary trails with the Klik system, allowing us to open trails faster. Additionally, we will be installing 4 permanent HKD tower fans on the Main and East Slope. Lastly (!), we are laying specialized power to mid-station, to assist with snowmaking and for future opportunities.

From an operational standpoint, like many, we learned a lot from last winter and will be carrying over many initiatives as well as introducing new ones. We hope that you will continue to take advantage of our Pick-Up-Boxes, QR codes and purchase in advance. This resulted in a much more seamless guest experience last winter and we continue to look for improvements, including a new e-commerce site this Fall, improved CRM and new WiFi.

Our emphasis on a quality F&B experience continues as we are exploring additional seating opportunities as well as new software. Outdoor seating was a big hit last winter!

Shawnee Peak is proud to have a strong ski school, our season-long program was very popular last year and we expect another strong year. Don’t wait to sign up if you are considering. On the equipment side, we did another major purchase, with emphasis on Burton equipment. We are also thrilled to announce that SkiHot will be leasing our new ski shop this winter!

Next door, we are very excited to launch 14 single-family home lots on Little Mountain. Each of these individual lots offer spectacular views and acreage. We hope that you’ll consider one for a seasonal or primary home! Please visit our new website to learn more.

Lastly but certainly not least, we continue to actively monitor the recent developments regarding Covid-19 and the current Delta variant. It goes without saying that Shawnee Peak is committed to doing whatever is necessary to provide a safe and healthy experience for our guests and employees. We appreciate everyone’s positive feedback and following our rules.
