hello, from the Peak!
welcome to our new blog!
I hope you are all enjoying the summer months. Here at the Peak, we’ve been hard at work since the day after the lifts closed last season. This year, we’re debuting Manny’s Musings, our blog that will give you some more real-time, detailed intel beyond what we share on our website and social media. We’ll update this a few times a month in the off-season and on a regular, weekly basis in the winter. So, here goes!
This was another busy off-season at the mountain, we have a number of significant projects underway. The list is pretty comprehensive, I’ll break it out over a series of posts over the next few months.
our new website:
We partnered up with an awesome firm out of Portland, iBec Creative, to build a new website. Everyone was excited for this project – the iBec team has put together some pretty innovative websites and our project manager had prior ski industry experience. Thus, high expectations! It’s been a multi-month endeavor – we hope that you like it and find the site to be simpler to navigate and more informative. More content will be added / tweaked over the next month or so as we get closer to winter and understand our site traffic.
a new ticketing & e-commerce platform too!
Along with our website, we are debuting a new ticketing and e-commerce platform! Shawnee Peak will have RFID access gates at our chairlifts – you may have seen these at other ski mountains. One exciting thing – is the ability to load your ticket online and go direct-to-lift, no more stopping at the ticket booth! I hope that many of you take advantage of this as it’ll allow you to squeeze in that extra run or two or avoid dealing with unruly children in line! There will be many more enhancements with this project, some of which you’ll see this year and others in future seasons. More info will come via a separate entry in the Fall as we are the middle of the installation process.
