February vacationers hitting the slopes

BRIDGTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- If you're one fighting snow fatigue, the slopes may not seem like the place to be... but one thing you won't hear people complaining about at Shawnee Peak Ski Area is the snow.

February break from schoolhas vacationers hitting the slopes. Like Anna Stansfield from Rhode Island who is in Bridgton visiting her Great Aunt.

"We go skiing every year because we have family up here," said Standfield. Her Great Aunt Joanne Diller says, "I look forward to it as much as they do, maybe even a little more."

On Sunday, the snow was in powdery condition. The few inches which fell overnight "is just a little something on top for everybody," says the Director of Marketing, Rachael Wilkinson.

Shawnee Peak's trails and glades are 100% open and 31 of the 42 are groomed. On Sundays, their night skiing is lasting an extra hour during February Vacation -- closing at 9PM. Monday night skiing is the least expensive day of the week, at $19 a ticket. Comedian Bob Marley will be performing stand-up Monday night at the lodge, costing $25 a ticket at first come first serve. The proceeds go to Shawnee Peak's Adaptive Program. To learn more click here:
