A letter from the Owner
Dear Passholders and Friends,
March is upon us and I am looking forward to some Blue Bird weekends and hopefully temperatures in the 40's! As many of you have come to realize, the weather is a major factor each year and although the month of January was very challenging, we are expecting the year will turn out favorably. I cannot say enough, how important your support and commitment to Shawnee Peak each year is to us. We are very lucky to have you and I personally am lucky to have come to know more of you each year.
We have been very pleased with our improvements this season: our East Lodge Bunkhouse has been well received, but more significant was the investment in our snowmaking and power plant, which allowed us to upgrade to electric air compressors, enabling us to achieve over a 50% reduction in diesel fuel. This summer, we are again looking to continue upgrading our snowmaking and grooming operations, as well as improving our base area and adding a second Yurt. We are seeking to expand our off-season wedding, lodging and function business and would appreciate your help with referrals! Additionally, we plan to host two to three mountain-top events where we will be running the lift to the top!
Please, rest assured the full Shawnee Peak team is committed to providing the best on-snow experience possible. We are constantly looking to improve our physical plant as well as how we serve you, our loyal guests. In the coming days, you will be receiving our Early Bird season pass applications, which will reflect both minor price increases as well as flat prices.
I look forward to seeing many of you over the remaining weeks of March and I would hope you might encourage some of your friends to join you as season pass holders.
Many thanks for your continued loyalty and friendship.
Owner, Shawnee Peak
