Shawnee Peak’s 15thAnnual Moonlight Charity Challenge Ski-A-Thon, Presented by Downeast Energy and Building Supply, Raises $20,000 for Camp Sunshine and Adaptive Ski Program
Bridgton, ME - More than 30 skiers and snowboarders participated in Shawnee Peak’s 15th Annual Moonlight Charity Challenge on Friday, February 5, 2010. Combining sponsorship dollars and individual donations, the event raised nearly $20,000 to benefit Camp Sunshine and the Shawnee Peak Adaptive Ski Program.

Presenting sponsor, Downeast Energy and Building Supply has been the primary sponsor for the event since 2003. Life Is Good Clothing donated incredible premium event wear for winners. Other sponsors include: Holloway Automotive Group, National Distributors, Baker Newman & Noyes, Benefit Networks, the Offices of Joe Bornstein, Migis Lodge & Chalmers Insurance Group.
Results
All Ski-A-Thon participants made as many runs as possible from 2-7pm. In addition to the $100 Entry fee, participants raised extra money for the cause. Awards were presented to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place finishers in 3 age categories – 12 & Under, 13-18 and 19 and up.

Worthy Charities
Camp Sunshine in Casco, ME offers a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. The Moonlight Charity Challenge helps fund two winter retreats during the President’s Week Vacation Holiday. Shawnee Peak Adaptive Ski Program serves more than 100 special needs children and adults from three surrounding counties. Moonlight Charity Challenge funds purchase updated equipment, such as the bi-ski.
