Bridgton, ME – Shawnee Peak Ski Area is proud to announce its jam-packed Special Events Calendar for the 2008-09 ski season.
December 2008
12/13 – Anticipated opening day (weather permitting)
12/16-18 – Tin Mountain Canned Food Drive – Bring three canned food items and ski for just $15! (Weather permitting)
12/20-21 – Learn to Ski/Snowboard FREE! Ages 8 & up receive free 1 3/4 –hour lesson, all day rental package and lift ticket for free! Advanced reservations required.
12/22 – First Monday Night Madness of the season! $12 Tickets 4-9pm
12/25 – Closed for Christmas Day
12/26 – Night skiing regular schedule starts.
12/29 – Ullr Fest ’08 – Beckoning snow with the Norse god of winter! Fireworks, torchlight parade, beating of the drums, live entertainment. FREE!
12/31 – New Year’s Eve Bash – Blizzard’s Pub
January 2009
1/3 – WFNX Apres Ski Party
1/3 – Skiing Under the Stars – Celebrate 20 Years of Night skiing at Shawnee Peak! Ski til 1am with very special ticket pricing!
1/4 – Super Hits Sunday kick-off. Freestyle contest in the Park/Pipe
1/7-8 – Racing With the Moon Corporate Race Series Starts.
1/10 – 2nd Annual Elvis on the Mountain. Celebrate Elvis’s birthday at Shawnee Peak! Live entertainment with the finest Elvis impersonator in Boston – MichaEL VISelli!
1/11 – Red Cross Blood Drive – Give blood and get a free ticket!
1/24 – WBZ Radio Appearance – Apres-ski party in Blizzard’s Pub
1/25 – Ernie’s Cycle Shop Presents the 6th Annual Downhill Mountain Bike Race. $30 registration fee.
February 2009
2/1 – AAA Member Appreciation Day – Show Your Card and Save! $35/adult & $30/junior tickets.
2/6 – Moonlight Charity Ski-A-Thon – Benefits Camp Sunshine and Shawnee Peak Adaptive Ski Program.
2/7 – Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge – FREE Family Fun Race for all ages!
2/14 – 4th Annual Valentine’s Day Sleigh Rides. Our Horse-drawn sleigh will take you and your honey to Proposal Pines for some hot chocolate under the stars and lots of romance!
2/19 – Family Day ’09 – Snow sculpture contests, family races, horse-drawn sleigh rides, tug-of-war, games, DJ, prizes, cartoon characters – and everything is FREE!
2/20 – Ride & Ski New England Apres-ski party – lots of prizes and live entertainment in Blizzard’s Pub.
2/21– WCYY Apres-Ski Party in Blizzard’s Pub
March 2009
3/1 – Race for Hear Me Now! Charity Race
3/7 – Ski ‘N’ The Blues – Great bands play in Blizzard’s Pub to raise money for NFI North.
3/14 – Mary’s Firemen for a Cure – Teams of five firemen ski down a course, while in full turn-out gear, carrying a 50-yard length of hose. An incredible site for a great cause – the Maine Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation
3/14 – WBLM Radio Appearance – Apres-ski party
3/15 – Red Cross Blood Drive – Give blood and get a free lift ticket for another day!
3/15 – Super Hits Sunday Finals – Freestylers put it all on the line for a bevy of prizes!
3/21 – Spring Fling Beach Party – Slush Cup, Reggae Music, BBQ and WHEB providing the entertainment.
3/28 – 2nd Annual America’s Mattress Race – Decorate and race your old mattress down The Main Slope for great prizes, including a fabulous Queen Mattress Set from America’s Mattress Stores. We’ll even recycle your old mattress for you!
3/29 – Season Passholders BBQ at Mid-Station
