Shawnee Peak Race Team Dry-Land Training
Date: November 6, 2010, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Location: Shawnee Peak, Race Team Room
The Shawnee Peak Race Team is hosting its annual dryland training and open house on Saturday, Nov. 6 beginning at 10 AM.
We have an exciting program this year, Janet and Peter McDonald have arranged for a survival skills course for our team – kids and adults alike are welcome to participate. Here’s a brief overview of what they’ll cover:
Order of Survival - Attitude, Shelter, Water, Fire, Food
LOST Proofing, Steps to take to be Found
Survival Kits(sizes&uses) - Stress importance of knowing how to use survival kit and practicing learning skills before you need them.
Possible Demo: Bow Drill, Hand drill, Fire building.
We’ll also do an informal ski swap, so bring any old equip and ski clothing you want to sell – we’ll have paper to write prices and just handle it on a one-to-one basis. Please invite anyone you think may be interested in the team, as we’ll be doing a meeting for new families concurrently to the survival lecture.
