The 90's

The 90's saw two ownership changes, culminating in the current ownership and the most aggressive capital improvements schedule in Shawnee Peak's History. Each year, Shawnee Peak spends significant dollars on snowmaking, lift, trail and infrastructure to enhance the winter vacation experience.

• 1992-94 – Shawnee Peak falls under bank ownership after the Shawnee Group defaults on financial obligations.
• 1994 – Chet Homer, a Kennebunk businessman (and current owner), purchases Shawnee Peak and starts the annual Moonlight Charity Challenge – a yearly charity race, which has raised more than $350,000 for national, regional and local charities
• 1998 – Pine Quad installed.

Dennis Haskins (Mr. Belding from "Saved By The Bell" TV show fame) was a regular at the first few Moonlight Charity Challenge events
