Rental Shop Manager 

This full-time, seasonal position offers oversight and management of the Rental and Repair Shop and ensuring that top-notch Guest Service standards are carried out.
New this year, Shawnee Peak has completely renovated the base lodge rental shop – improvements include a fully-revamped layout, new storage racks for all equipment and new ski and snowboard tuning equipment. 

Rental Shop Manager Responsibilities

The Rental Shop Manager will be asked to serve in all roles in the shop, reporting directly to the General Manager.
Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to: overseeing staff hiring, payroll management, scheduling and training; managing daily equipment inventory; record keeping; ensuring overall cleanliness of Rental Shop, working within additional guidelines set forth by Senior Management.
The manager will also be responsible for maintaining rental inventory and providing recommendations at the end of the season for equipment replacement. 

Rental Shop Manager Requirements 

Must be available all weekend and holiday periods from the first of December through the first weekend in April (excluding Christmas Day).
A strong level of Ski or Snowboard proficiency is preferred, but not required. Must have prior experience in rentals, tuning or hard goods – to include but not limited to: installing/adjusting/testing bindings, sharpening and waxing of skis and snowboards, and providing misc repairs to all equipment types.
Rental inventory control and maintenance is of paramount importance.
Experience greeting guests and assisting customers with registration, boot fitting, ski / board selection, and other items is essential.
The manager is expected to work in conjunction with the Director of SnowSports to ensure that Guests have a superior experience and to share personnel on an as-needed basis.

Shawnee Peak opens for both day and night skiing in mid December through late March or early April; most departments have two shifts. We are open for skiing day and night Monday-Saturday and 8:30am-4:30pm Sundays. There is a third shift for snowmaking.

We are holding two job fairs for the upcoming season on Tuesday November 1st and Thursday November 3rd from 4pm-7pm. If you are seeking employment for the 2016-2017 season it is strongly recommended that you attend one of the sessions.

Department Indoor Positions Available
Guest Services We're looking for customer service professionals that thrive in a fast paced environment. You should be comfortable handling money, speaking on the phone, working with basic computer programs and of course love interacting with people.
Ticketing Service with a smile! Quick, friendly transactions are key when selling tickets. You must be comfortable handling cash and interacting with the public. Training will be given on our Point of Sales System.
SnowSports School Pass on your love of skiing and riding. Many of the customers you will help on a daily basis will be new to snowsports and/or Shawnee Peak. You should be able to give advice and recommend lessons for our guests. You will need to be able to learn products quickly, should be comfortable handling money, speaking on the phone, working on a computer (training will be given on our Point of Sales System) and love working with the general public.
Peek a Boo Daycare State-licensed Day Care for ages 6 months to 6 Years. Employees must be aged 18 or older.  Shawnee Peak will provide CPR training.  Weekends/holidays are a must.  Occasionally "on-call" midweek care providers are needed. All staff must have a high school diploma or equivalent or be attending high school or be enrolled in a GED preparation program.
Blizzards Pub We're looking for friendly faces to work in our busy restaurant.  All applicants must work well as part of a team. We are interviewing for experienced servers, bar staff, kitchen, dishwashers and bar backs.  You must be 18+ or older for most positions.
Cafeteria Prep our daily house made offerings! Be part of a fast paced team and offer food service with a smile. We will be hiring cooks, prep hands, cashiers and kitchen help.
Department Outdoor Positions Available
SnowSports School We're looking for enthusiastic individuals that want to work outside and share their passion of skiing or riding. Intermediate skiing or riding ability is preferred but the right attitude is key for this position.  We have two training days during early December weekends.
Snowmaking Want to make it snow? You must be 18+ and should enjoy the physical  and outdoor nature of this job.  Heavy lifting is required. 
Lifts Greet our customers with a smile! You will be required to help guests load the chairlift and will occasionally need to check tickets.  Must be 18+. Some heavy lifting required as part of this position.
Race Dept. Hiring Race Crew. Strong skiing ability is required. 18+. Nights and weekends are a must.
Terrain Park Do you have a passion for the Terrain Park? We need staff to build and maintain our features.  You may occasionally run a terrain park competition and should enjoy interacting with the puble. Must be 18+. Night and weekend shifts available.
Ticket Scanners You'll be on the frontline greeting and interacting with our skiers and riders. We're looking for individuals who are comfortable and courteous dealing with guests and be prepared to work outside for extended periods. 16+
